Frequently Asked Questions

How it works:

No, the device can be used with any body constitution and weight.

No, your nervous system is adaptive even in advanced age. Just as the neuroplasticity of the brain, the rest of your body responds to outside stimuli and training input.

No. ProHandstand allows you to start handstand training as a complete beginner.

Definitely! With ProHandstand you expand your range of skills based on arm balance and inversion postures. You can see a list of exercises you can achieve with ProHandstand on our website.

The risk of injury is not significantly higher than when doing handstand training free in space. You could topple over and fall on your flat back if you don’t know the rescue techniques. Other than that, there is no increased risk from ProHandstand because we’ve put a soft rubber cap on the top of the device that you could theoretically fall on if you’re being completely goofy.

In case you have not practiced handstand for some time, ProHandstand is an effective method to regain handstand in a very short time. Also, once you master it, you will use it to learn many other handstand disciplines, like you can find on our website.

No! We strongly discourage the use of a wall. Some handstand coaches recommend using the wall only as a strength building aid, which definitely makes more sense than training balance on the wall. However, we do not consider the wall per se suitable for making progress in handstand. It also becomes generally redundant with ProHandstand, as you can now train strength in the device at the same time as you condition your nervous system.

No! You are completely self-sufficient in your training. But of course you can still search for your perfect soulmate.

Rule of thumb: The more often muscles and nerves receive impulses, the better. At least 5 times a day for a few minutes plus a longer session of about 1 hour. If you train less often, it will take progressively longer.

No, however, it is highly recommended that you train according to our methodology, as it is designed for highly effective practice with this new support technology, saving you time.

This question cannot be answered yes or no. Depending on the information you were taught, you can, or you cannot. However, our own training concept is the most effective method, as it is tailor-made for training in this particular device.

We recommend starting with the device in front of a wall for the first few kickups. Over the course of the first 10 – 20 kickups, increase the distance to the wall and learn how the device responds to your actions.
